Now in its 8th year of operation, the SOTMSC provides performances to communities in Toronto and the G.T.A. facing barriers to creative and communal engagement through the works of William Shakespeare. We prioritize artist growth by providing meaningful employment and standardized pay to emerging and established artists in Toronto.
The position is a part of a limited contract, starting out at a commitment of 5 hours per week as we train, and building up to 20 hours per week in the high points of our season for the first year of employment.
Eligible applicants must be able to work for profit share as we take the next steps into incorporation and salaried positions.
The following are considered assets:
- Budget management (knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus)
- Contract writing, management and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail
- Scheduling, (experience building and executing fiscal and marketing calendars a plus)
- Communication skills
- Prioritization skills
- Leadership skills
- Quick learner
- High organization skills
- Flexibility within their schedules
- Knowledge of the theatre community and industry (experience with not-for-profit models and small theatre companies a plus)
- Team building experience
