Q: What is your favourite part about walking into hospitals?
A:Watching someone's face change from hesitancy and suspicion when we walk in to joy, even if it is for the briefest moment. It is such a gift to be able to offer a moment of distraction and engagement outside of their daily reality of being in a hospital.
Q: What's the weirdest thing that has happened in your run so far?
A: During the Imperial launch when that strange man in the bar decided to join our army setting off for war. He was a great addition to the team.
Q:What's the most unexpected thing that's happened?
A: When Sam sang 'My Funny Valentine' for a man who wanted to hear some jazz music. It was entirely spontaneous and heartwarming.
Q: What's your favourite piece out of your repertoire?
A: Tough call. I love them all, but if you threatened me with never being able to eat cheese again, I guess I would say Romeo and Juliet. It is such a joy to play inside that moment of pure and unabashed true love. Juliet is so sure in her love and the type of love she requires from Romeo. She is so smart in her arguments despite the fact that she is barely containing her emotions. She's pretty awesome to play.
Q: What are your Star Wars plans?
A: I'm going to the midnight showing on the 17th. I know it's closing night, but I have plenty of time to revel before midnight right?? Right ?!
Q: What has it been like sitting in these characters for so long?
A: It has been incredible to sit in these characters for so long. With Shakespeare there is always more to connect with and more to find. With every performance there have been new discoveries and a deeper understanding of what drives these humans. Having the freedom to continue exploring and playing for this long has been a rare and wonderful experience.
